*punches the computer*

Ugh, I hate the internet. It’s starting to piss me off with it’s stupidity and the fact that I have to troubleshoot every 5 minutes, sometimes less. Even when I turn off my computer, I still have to do it half an hour later. I think it’s my home internet connection, because when I use the internet at my robotics team, I never have to worry about it because it works straight through. Ugh, this frustrates me. But now, onto my rant for today.

Do we rely to much on technology? I mean, we have lights, we have computers(which is how your reading this), we have phones that can act as computers, we have heart monitors, we have chemo, we have CD players, and stereos. We have all sorts of things that rely on one thing-electricity. But do we rely on it so much that we have no other ways of communication? People are always saying “Oh, I’ll e-mail you this” or “I’ll face book you that” or something of the sort. The United States postal service is on it’s way out the door because we no longer need it.  It’s all technological.  But the fact that some kids rely on a calculator to do simple math like 24 and 7? It’s just getting to the point where it’s saddening.  A few days ago in the car, my sister and I were joking around with my dad. My dad goes “You guys do this 24/7. It’s bothering me.” And my sister responds with “Oh, don’t you mean 32?” I looked at her, because I caught the base of her joke from the show ‘Two and a half men’ from the episode when Jake and his stepdad refer to everything that they do all the time as 31.

The fact that a NINTH grader can’t do that kind of math is just pathetic. I have trouble in math, but still. Or that my other sister has no idea what the word ‘superfluous’ means. I can use it in a PERFECT sentence, and she would still have no idea what it meant. THAT is what bothers me with the children of today. Yes, you can consider me one of them, but I can tell you that 24+7 is equal to 32, or that superfluous means more then needed or not necessary. “My next door neighbor has a superfluous amount of shoes-I’ve never seen her wear the same pair twice!”

Some generation we have to follow us. The government wants to put money into Research and Development? Wants the students to have the highest test scores like we used to before Japan and other Asian countries took over? The fact that there is more money and funding going into science and math and technology, but not into social studies or English disgusts me. Some kids just don’t think logically, myself included, but social studies and English classes and careers are just as important. If the government were taking funding out of sports or even out of the celebrities pay-checks, then I wouldn’t complain. But the English language is taken for granted because we learn it from birth. Half of the students in our school district, myself included, would NEVER have been able to pass the citizenship test that we have-the idea of these tests coming from China, under a Confucian government. If you don’t know what that is, your fine. But if you can’t tell me the amount of land that the District of Columbia has, or the number of amendments that are in the constitution, or even who the senators are in your state, then you would NEVER be a United States citizen if you weren’t born in the United States.

Which is pathetic. If you’ve ever heard the quote “Those who don’t study history are destined to repeat it’s mistakes.”, then that’s what I’m getting at. We teach about the Holocaust to PREVENT another one. We teach about the Renaissance and the Great Enlightenment to learn about the ideas and how life was before so that we can APPRECIATE what we have now. 50 years ago, the technology that we have today would be considered alien, and in another 50 years, they’ll call what we have ancient and useless, or infantile. “Necessity is the mother of invention.”If that’s true, then why are people using things like Guitar Hero and Rock Band, when they could be learning how to play the guitar in life.

Just because English is the current Lingua Franca, or the language of trade, at the moment, doesn’t mean that it won’t change to a different language, like German or Italian. People today are stupid and they have no idea that America is no longer a core nation and that it’s on it’s way out from whatever seat of power that it has.

Anyways, onto music.

*tries something new*

So, I’ve decided to try something new. Instead of having to go onto the blogger website like I usually do, I get to use the Windows Live Writer to write my posts instead, which is much handier, and I can save posts as drafts, and they won’t go up on the website until I have the time to edit them.

Today, I had a track meet. It was a long track meet, but I go to sleep, which was nice. And tomorrow, I get to build robots for 5 hours instead of going skiing on my new skis, like I wanted to. I mean, I love my robotics team, but I don’t do anything. I’m not good at the new program like I was at the old one, and I’m not a builder. Yeah, I can put stuff together, but only if I need to, which isn’t that often. I was on the team before, but then I needed to drop for a year because of my grandfathers passing 2 Septembers ago because we needed to clean out his house.

I have to go take the permit test again too, because I failed the first time. Yes, you can laugh all you want, but it’s NBD. I studied, but not to hard. I really don’t care though. I’ll take it soon, so then I’ll be able to drive this summer(hopefully) and then it’ll be nice to drive to school too.

I’m going to skip my rant this time(again). Sorry guys, there isn’t really that much to rant about, so I don’t need to worry about it.

*squeals because of christmas*

No, it's not because of a baby's first christmas or anything like that. It's because I got the Little Mermaid on DVD 2-disc Platnium edition with deleted scenes, the soundtrack and a sneek preview of the Little Mermaid:Ariel's Beginning, which is quite adorable and cute. I also got new SkullCandy headphones, a charm bracelet, new running shorts, a snuggie, guitar hero 5, chapstick, an under armour sweater, and some other stuff. But we are now watching THE LIBRARIAN:QUEST FOR THE SPEAR on TNT.
I've started to play this game called Evony and it's actually really fun. Yeah, it's time consuming and you should only play this game when you have HOURS UPON HOURS of time. I love it and I'm gonna keep this post short today.

*tries to understand*

I really want to understanc how this works. I mean, I have various guy friends who all try to explain to me how to understand how a guy thinks and what he wants. But NONE of them can tell me what said boy wants. Ugh. I mean, I think he likes me, and I really hope he does, because I don't want to fall harder without knowing that he's there to catch me so that I don't hit rock bottom, or worse, reality. I really don't want to hit reality because this cloud nine that I've been chilling on is way too nice to drop from. I mean, flirting with him is great, but I really want more then to be some arm candy, or the person that he hooks up with when there's no one else for him to. I'm fairly certain that he likes me after the long talks, the walks through the hallway, the putting up with me when im bitchy or ranting, the 'adoring'gazes(as my friend puts it), the walking me to my next class even when his next one is across the building, the calling late at night to make sure that I'm ok, and all sorts of other things.
It's really all I can do to NOT jump him in the hallway, or in class for that matter. I'm a flirt, but he's really not, so I'm wondering if it's because he's scared that I'll cheat on him-which I would never do-ever. I find that to be disgusting and dispicable and anyone that does that deserves a good smack in the head.
So, as I write this, I am talking to my friend Kayla and she's helping me come up with songs that I should put at the end, since I've done alot. I mean, this is the 46th post of my blog. I'm gonna do a big compilation at the 50th of all the songs that I've put in, and I'm listening to a really good song that she just recommended called "You Had Me at Hello" by A Day to Remember, which an amazing song, and I totally recommend it to anyone who still reads this song. And I just finished listening to a song that you might know, called "Take my Hand(Ft. Cassadee Pope)" By The Cab, which is another good song. Alrighty then.
Next topic. I'm sorry for ranting about my love life for so long, but it just confused me. Now, back to the cheating thing. Yes, I feel that cheating is disgusting and gross and wrong. Two people who swear that they love each other, or they're supposed to be seeing each other exclusively should be just that-exclusive. There are times when it's bad to be exclusive, but this is not one of them. The whole Tiger Woods scandal is getting too much publicity. It's like a news orgy. It's so stupid. Yes, what he did was wrong and his wife should leave him, and he deserves to lose his sponsers, and he deserves all the ridicule, but for him to get as much publicity that he's gotten? That's just stupid.
I also spent yesterday at a funeral for one of my best friend's grandfather, who was like my third grandfather and was one of the most amazing men that I have ever met. He was a person that you could talk to about everything and he would have an answer. Why should abortion not be justified? He would answer it from both a non-religous and religous out look. Which not many people can do. I personally did not agree with some of his opinions, but to hear him speak? I'm honored that I knew him because he was there if you needed a shoulder to cry on, he was there if you needed someone to talk to, he was there if you had done something that you regretted, he was there if you wanted to yell and scream, and he was always willing to help a person in need. He was one of the most considerate, nicest, caring, and most amazing people that I have met in my life.
I can guarentee that he will be missed, not just by his family.

*glances around at other blogs*

Alright, so before I started this post, I
a)got out of the shower
b)realized I smelled like soap, so I got back into the shower and used a different soap
c)got dressed and brushed teeth
d)came down to listen to my mom scream at the Windows guy long enough for her to come up a with story saying that when she was younger, Bill Gates asked her out when she was drunk and she said no, so he has a personal vendetta against her so she can't operate technology. At. All
e)laughed about my mother's story
f)listening to music
g)was kicked off of my laptop so my mother could check her e-mail
h)listened to two of my friends talk about each other because they LIKE each other
i)thought about said boy again
j)thought about said boy some more
k)took out contacts because they were bothering my eyes
l)spelled the alphabet wrong while attempting to type this list
I feel like this was a productive day. But then I thought about how badly the Gossip Girl ended. And now, I'm listening to a really good song by the Cab featuring Hey Monday called 'Take My Hand' which is really good. And I also started to dance to the song while I was listening and as I continue to type now.
And to expand on my rant from last time, guys like girls because they think that
a)they're pretty as I learned the other day
b)they think that they're easy, as I also learned last night
c)that just because the boy dated them before they want to fall back into your arms
d)girls are stupid
When in reality, boys are very stupid because they think that every girl is in love with them, when sometimes, all I want to do is punch them in the face. The Christmas tree sits in front of me and I think about how long it took us to get all those ornaments.
My favorite part of Christmas is when we decorate the tree because my dad buys my mom a world ornament. The first time this tradition started was a year before my parents got married. My mom was going to break up with my dad and right before she did, he gave her an ornament and said "You mean the world to me." And every year when we decorate the tree, he gives her another one from where ever we went on vacation that year.
It's really cute.
And I just finished the episode of Glee which was amazing, but I'm very upset because...UGH!
