Come sit next to me, you fine fellow

So, I don’t know if I've ever mentioned before that I watch that show Glee? Well, now you all know that I watch it, and I love it. It’s a great show with a catchy story line, great pickup songs, a good cast, and it’s really great to see what a “reality” high school looks like. This week’s episode was so incredible. It showed the downside of the pressures of being perfect. If anyone watched it this week, Mercedes was the main character, and after her and Kurt joined the Cheerios, Sue tells Mercedes that she needs to lose weight in order to stay on the cheerleading team, so Mercedes thinks that the best way to lose all the weight was to starve herself, and the worst part? It’s not uncommon in high school girls, the struggle to be “perfect” is growing ever omnipresent. I mean, they’ve drifted away from anorexia and bulimia to an almost OCD disease where everything that these girls eat is catalogued, from the calories that they eat at every meal, to the time that they ate at. It’s almost disgusting. Marilyn Monroe was a size 14 and she was one of the most iconic women in United States acting, and she was a brilliant woman.

The other thing that I feel I should tell you all about is this guy that I love, whose nickname is Brom, (yes, like the Brom from Eragon) and he’s my personal space heater at track meets. He’s the HUGE Russian that has the best Russian accent, and I love me those Russians, so I told him that he wasn’t allowed to talk in a Russian accent when I was near him. But he’s also one of the nicest kids ever. He’s a freshman, but you defiantly wouldn’t think so if you had met him. Besides, he has a fabulous music taste-he’s just not a music snob like yours truly. XD

Now, I feel as if i need to cover chivalry again. According to the Princeton dictionary, chivalry means “respect towards women”. I mean, is it really that hard to treat a women like she’s equal to a man? Is it that difficult to believe that they’re smart? Is it that hard to believe that women can’t be similar to men? Most of my friends are guys, and I love them all to death, but they talk about women like meat. Would a guy appreciate it if I started at him, like a fresh piece of meat straight off of the grill? I don’t think so. But men still feel the need to do it anyways. I mean, I think that some of the jokes about women being in the kitchen are funny, but if you overdo it, then it’s just cumbersome.

Now, here are the songs that have been running through my mind on this wonderfully sunny and warm day.

  1. Walk on Water or Drown-Mayday Parade
  2. Justify-Red Jumpsuit Apparatus
  3. Lollipop-Mika
  4. Dancing With Tears in My Eyes-Ke$ha
  5. Give a Damn-A Rocket to the Moon
  6. Men in Black(Cover)-Forever the Sickest Kids
  7. Hello Brooklyn-All Time Low

Alright, so again, any comments, questions, anything you want my opinion on, songs, whatever else you can think of, I’m happy to address if you post.
